The Design Award has been granted to Paul McPartland of Pomona Estates for the transformation of 37-39 Shipbourne Road. The project successfully repurposed an existing, unattractive building, avoiding demolition. The Tonbridge Civic Society praised the project for showing clear evidence of thought well beyond a minimal reuse scheme, delivering a well-considered front and high-quality detailing.
The redevelopment improves the Shipbourne Road street scene and was a positive surprise to many local residents, setting a new standard that other developers should follow.
Community Award: Cowdrey Cricket Club – Swanmead Sportsground
